During 2023-24 Gaza-Israel war, agriculture in the Israeli border surrounding Gaza was in crisis. The crop was left to rot and the greenhouses were out of control. Under fire, the army sends some of its soldiers to carry out agricultural missions. In fact, this is an old story, the area surrounding Gaza was founded through the construction of "Nahal outposts", a hybrid agricultural-military settlements, which were strategically placed on the "Green Line" to control the border through large agricultural areas. The soldiers carried out the agricultural work while preventing the Gazan refugees from returning to the fields they owned.
